Plyometrics 08/30/11

You know what sucks?

Mind games.

I hate mind games.  I hate it in life, and I hate it in fitness.

Right now my mind is so pre-occupied that I'm having the hardest time concentrating on running, on P90x, on anything.

You know what sucks more?

Knowing that a bad ass run or workout is exactly what I need to get out of this slump. But I can't get that in because of mind games. But alas, that blog entry is for another blog. Damn you.

I did some plyometrics today instead of running because of my knee. Don't get me wrong, I know what plyometrics is. My knee still went to work and it hurts right now, but at least I'm at home, close to the ice. Anyway, plyo was what it was. It wasn't the best, it wasn't the worst. It was something.

I think I'll go for a quick 5k when I get home from work.

Oh wait, I'm a girl, another fix to this slump? Get new shoes.  Lunarglide+ 3 in black & pink [solar red], you are officially mine.

Pushing It?

I keep on trying to go on my long runs but my left leg is acting up.

Maybe I should give it a rest since I'm going to start the training plan in a week.

I'm supposed to have ran, be running, 8 miles either today or yesterday but its just not happening cuz my left leg is acting up.

I should give it a rest because in the marathon training tapers of at 10 miles.

Maybe I should treadmill it later today so I can get at least 7 in. I ran 6 last week.

I'm so worried about hitting 13 miles. The most I ever ran was 8 a long time ago. And when I say ran, its a run/walk combo. Haha. Since I've never done 13, I'm supremely worried.

Oh well.

I have to respect what my body is telling me. Its my only one.

Week 4

I'm on week four of rest. Two more weeks till I can run again as per the advice of the doctor.

I'm restless to say the least, but I'm looking forward to being able to run again.

In a way, its a fresh start. I'm going to buy a new pair of shoes, meticulously track my progress, and more importantly, have fun with it.

I'm inspired by those type of people who can really really track their progress and just be super macro about details.  Unfortunately, if I try to be like those people,  I get a giant head ache and get sad I'm not those type of people. So I just stay me and have fun with that. I'll do my best to be detailed, but if not, its okay.

A lot of people ask how I stay motivated.

To be honest, I have a whole lot of insecurites about the way I look. But really, REALLY, that isn't motivation. Its a stupid and wrong way of looking at myself. I had to change my mind and when I let the truth sink in that its the wrong of way looking at things my motivatio changed from that to:

I want to be healthy because I want to have an increased quality of life. I want to live long and see my kids have kids. I want to enjoy my life and not worry about sicknesses.

Its more of life thing as opposed to once I meet my goal, my life will be easier cuz I am not feeling ugly. See the difference?

Anyway, yeah! Thats why I've been MIA for a while, not much to blog about working out/running when you can't do much of one or any of the other.
